FKCA honored three Konkani Catholics for their achievements

Bengaluru: The Federation of Konkani Catholic Associations (FKCA) honoured three eminent Konkanis – Paul Moras, Corrine Antoinette Rasquinha and Vivek Aranha – for their achievement in their respective fields to mark the 21st Federation Day on Sunday.

Paul Moras was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award for enriching Konkani through his writing. Moras has published books covering Konkani culture and social life. He is the recipient of several awards. 

Corrine Antoinette Rasquinha was conferred with Professional Excellence Award. Corrine, who is the founder of White Doves, runs an NGO based in Mangalore. She has changed lives of many through rehabilitation centers, providing ration, shelters, food and clothes without looking at their caste or creed. Her foundation has been recognized by local administrations, Rotary clubs, national and international associations etc.

Vivek Aranha, Chairman, Rosary Education Group, Pune, received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Vivek has been providing employment for more than 500 employees through his education institution. The Rosary Group has also bagged awards from various organizations for its professional excellence. 

Justice P Vishwanath Shetty, Karnataka Lokayukta, was the chief guest of the event, which was presided over by Bangalore Archbishop Rev Dr Bernard Moras.    

Ivan D’Souza, Congress chief whip in the Legislative Council; J R Lobo, MLA, Mangaluru South Constituency; and mayor R Sampath Raj were also present.
