Mangaluru: The work on platform extension, lift facility and railway overbridge, which has been started at Mangaluru Junction Railway Station at the cost of Rs 15 crore is now apparently going to face even more delay in its completion.
Though the grant has been released from the Railway Department, the work which was expected to be completed by December month end is now going to be further delayed due to some technical problem. However, the officials refuse to divulge any information on the concerned technical problem.
Mangaluru Junction Railway Station, which has been identified as a Swachh railway station is suffering from the lack of several basic facilities. In this backdrop, the Railway Department had come forward to give a modern touch to the railway station along with providing it with basic facilities. Accordingly, various works were started at the cost of Rs 15 crore. The aim was to finish the work by December month end. But, presently due to some technical problem, the work has been delayed.
