Mangaluru: Former union minister and veteran Congress leader B Janardhana Poojary opined that the Gandhi family should continue to lead the Congress party.

Poojary’s remark comes in the backdrop of a controversy over a letter written by 23 senior Congress leaders questioning the party leadership.

Stating that members of the Gandhi family have led the party forward in the past, Poojary urged that the responsibility of AICC be borne by the family.

“In this difficult situation, the Gandhi family should take over the leadership of the party,” he said.
