Gas tanker topples near Shiradi Ghat; Driver rescued after 2 hours

Sakaleshapura: Traffic on Shiradi Ghat on National Highway 75 was affected for some hours after a gas tanker topled near Maranahalli today morning at around 8.30 am.
The mishap occured after the driver of the Bengaluru-bound LPG tanker lost control over the vehicle. Fortunately, no leakage of gas was reported in the mishap.
The driver, however was trapped inside the cabin and was rescued after nearly 2 hours with joint efforts of Firefighters, Police and locals. He has sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at Hasan District Hospital.
Vehicular movement on the route was diverted as a precautionary measure. A crane was deployed to lift the tanker and faciltate movement of vehicles.
