Bengaluru: Taking on the Congress over supporting former minister and Congress leader Vinay Kulkarni, who was recently released on bail in connection with a murder case, CT Ravi on Tuesday said that one needs to go to jail to get a promotion in Congress party.

Karnataka Congress President D.K. Shivakumar on Monday had said that the Congress party stands with former minister and Congress leader Vinay Kulkarni.

Reacting to which Ravi said, “One needs to go to jail to get a promotion in the Congress party. Vinay Kulkarni is now neither innocent nor guilty, he is just “accused”. He is a part of the corrupt political system of the party. This is an example of ‘Gundagiri promotion.”

“Earlier, Rajiv Gandhi too had told that ‘Gundas’ must be given special priority. People must beware of the Congress party,” he added.
