Google meet has added a feature where the users can preview video calls before joining the meeting.
The new feature allows users to confirm that auxiliary devices are configured properly and are corrected and to make sure the network connectivity is good to understand the impact of noise cancellation on their audio.
The users can detect issues like,
- unintentionally muted microphone
- secondary display monitor with a missing headphone or speaker connection
- other audio related issues such as poor sound quality, audio that’s too loud or if the microphone is amplifying background noises
Users can even make adjustments to lighting and positioning in order to avoid dark or grainy video quality.
To avail this new feature, click on “Check your audio and video” button before joining a meet, it will open the ‘green room’ where one can preview their audio and video quality.
The new feature will be available to Google Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus, as well as G Suite Basic, Business, Education, Enterprise for Education, and Nonprofits customers.
