Mumbai: “Hindi Medium”, starring Irrfan Khan and Pakistani actor Saba Qamar, will release in China on April 4.
The film, which released last year, will be screened in China after Bollywood films such as “Dangal” and “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” opened to rave reviews and massive box office collections.
The movie has been produced by Bhushan Kumar (T-Series) and Dinesh Vijan (Maddock Films).
T Series made the announcement on Twitter.
“After successful outing in India and winning several awards, @irrfank starrer @HindiMediumfilm produced by #BhushanKumar’s @TSeries & #DineshVijan’s @MaddockFilms will now release in China on 4th April 2018. Directed by #[email protected]_qamarzaman @deepakdobriyal,” the tweet read with the poster of the film in Mandarin.
The film, directed by Saket Chaudhary, narrates the story of parents who would go to any lengths to enrol their daughter into an English-medium school and be accepted by the society.
Also featuring Deepak Dobriyal, Amrita Singh and Tillotama Shome, “Hindi Medium” released on May 19 here.
Following the film’s success at the box office, the makers have already announced plans for a follow-up but there is no clarity on when the shooting will begin as Irrfan recently revealed that he is suffering from a “rare disease”.
The 51-year-old actor promised to share more on his health after a conclusive diagnosis while requesting for privacy.
