Hubballi man wearing PPE kit steals 25 kg gold from Delhi jewellery showroom

New Delhi/Hubballi: A 25-year-old man from Hubballi was arrested by Delhi Police in connection with theft of 25 kg gold worth Rs 13 crore from a jewellery showroom in Kalkaji area.
The arrested man has been identified as Sheikh Noor, a native of Hubballi is an electrician by profession.
Noor had worn PPE kit and used ropes and gast cutter to gain entry into the three-storey showroom and the entire sequence was captured on CCTV camera.
The CCTV footage from the store shows Mohammed Shaikh Noor in a PPE kit entering the store. He jumped from the terrace of the adjacent building, police said. Five armed guards were on duty at the showroom at the time of theft. However, they were unaware when the theft took place in the early hours of Wednesday.
In another footage from the surveillance cameras, he can be seen searching for jewellery items as he climbs over a desk to go to the other side.
Police said that 25 kg gold was seized from his possession. A case has been registered against him at the Kalkaji police station.
