Its official now. Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya, who had been featuring in the headlines for months for their alleged split, decided to make an official announcement about their separation on Saturday, October 2.
Chaitanya made the announcement with a note in which he requested his fans to support the couple during the difficult time and respect their privacy.
He wrote, To all our well wishers. After much deliberation and thought Sam and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us. We request our fans, well wishers and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thank you for your support.”

The speculations about the couple’s rift started when Samantha Prabhu Ruth dropped her surname Akkineni on social media. The actress changed her display name on Instagram and Twitter to ‘S’.
