Joint police operation: Notorious robbers nabbed

Shimoga: In a joint operation conducted by Shimoga Doddapete and Vinoba Nagar police, six notorious robbers who used to gain access into houses by giving various excuses and committing robbery have been successfully nabbed.

The police also seized 740 gm of gold, 4 kg silver, Rs 10,000 in cash, a splendor motorcycle worth Rs 30,000 and altogether assets worth Rs 24,79,000 has been seized from the accused.

The arrested have been identified as Prakash, Elias, Vijikumar, Abdul Roshan, Mohammed Ibrahim and Saifulla Khan. The arrested already have 23 different cases booked against them at various other police stations in the district.

SP Shantaraju has announced a monetary prize of Rs 10,000 to the police officials team which took part in the joint operation which tracked and caught the culprits.
