Kadaba: Kadaba police on Thursday arrested a man for allegedly raping a minor girl on multiple occasions.

The arrested Ramesh from near Pajovu in Kodimbala village has been booked under the POSCO Act.

The sexual atrocity inflicted on the girl, who happens to be a relative of the accused came to light after she fell sick and was taken to Kadaba community health centre for treatment. During the preliminary check-up, doctors found that the girl was pregnant and referred her to Lady Goschen Hospital Mangaluru for further tests. The results confirmed that she was one and half months into her pregnancy.

As per the complaint lodged by the victim, Ramesh used to regularly visit their house since April 2020. He had sexually assaulted the girl on multiple occasions thus impregnating her. He even threatened her not to reveal her pregnancy to anyone.
