Karnataka: 120-ft tall Vivekananda statue to come up near Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A 120 feet tall statue of Swami Vivekananda on the lines of the Statue of Unity in Gujarat will be built near Muthyala Maduvu waterfall at Jigani at the edge of the city.
This was announced by State’s Housing Minister V Somanna on Saturday, May 30.
Somanna further stated that the move is part of the plan to develop the waterfall area for tourism.
The statue will be built along with the township being developed by the Karnataka Housing Board in Surya Nagar’s 4th Phase.
Somanna added that the preliminary work on the statue has already begun, however, the cost estimates of the construction is yet to be finalised.
