Bengaluru: The Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of the Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) Alok Kumar had in the past 3 months organised a mass de-addiction campaign for personnel to improve the efficiency of the police force.
About 150 police officials with high alcohol addiction and about 400 with medium alcohol addiction were sent to de-addiction centres at Bengaluru and Mangaluru in batches.
Those with low to moderate alcohol consumption were spared.
The decision to send the personnel to de-addiction centres was made after no changes were seen in their drinking habits even after repeated notices.
