K’taka COVID-19 update: 5619 new cases; 5407 discharges; 100 deaths on Aug 5

Bengaluru: 5,619 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the State in the 24 hours between the evenings of August 4 and 5.
5,407 people were discharged from hospitals and 100 COVID-19 deaths occurred during the same period.
The total tally of COVID-19 cases and COVID-19 deaths in the State has risen to 1,51,449 and 2804 respectively.
Presently, there are 73,958 active COVID-19 cases in the State, our of which 633 are in Intensive Care Units.
Once again Bengaluru Urban district has emerged as the top contributor to the State’s COVID-19 case numbers with 1,848 new cases reported on August 5.
Other districts where a high number of cases were detected include Ballari (631), Belgaum (293), Mysuru (261), Davanagere (224), Dharwad (199), Kalaburagi (197), Udupi (173), Koppala (154), Dakshina Kannada (149), Bagalkot (149), Hassan (137), Chikkaballapur (129), Uttara Kannada (125), Mandya (123), and Bangalore Rural (110).
