Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court has ordered the State government to confiscate the properties of IMA scam-accused and former minister Roshan Baig within a week.
The Court expressed its unhappiness over the government’s delay in the confiscation of Baig’s properties to which the government had replied that due to the lockdown they could not conduct the confiscation process.
Rejecting the reply the court said that there can be no connection between the lockdown and the confiscation, adding that it is hesitancy that is preventing the government from confiscating a former politician’s property.
The Central Bureau of Investigation’s SPP Prasan Kumar told the court that the CBI has concluded its investigation in the IMA scam and has filed the chargesheet against Baig.
The Court then also ordered the State government to immediately grant sanction to prosecute IPS officers involved in the case.
