K’taka polls: Mithun Rai files nomination papers

Congress leader Mithun M Rai filed his nomination papers on Monday, April 18. He made a grand entry in Moodabidri town as he filed his nomination papers as a Congress candidate for the constituency. Thousands of supporters, activists, and fans cheered him on as he marched through the streets in an open vehicle.
Rai’s procession was accompanied by his favorite pili dancers, which added to the vibrant atmosphere. The workers marched in unison, waving flags and shouting slogans, making their support for Mithun clear.
Before filing his nominations, Mithun visited several religious centers, including Kateel Durgaparameshwari Temple, Bappanadu Durgaparameshwari Temple, Alangaru Mahaganapati Mahalingeshwar Temple, and Puttige Somanatheshwar Temple.
Congress District President Harish Kumar, MLA U.T. Khader, former MLA and Rai’s political guru Abhaychandra Jain and several other prominent political figures participated in the event.
Mithun Rai was joined by his parents, father Dr. Mahabala Rai, a famous orthopedic specialist, and mother Mallika M. Rai, who blessed him at the event. His brother, Dr. Manish Rai, also attended the meeting.
Mithun Rai wore dark blue pants and a white shirt while submitting his nomination papers, along with a shawl known as Tulu Nadu flag with a dark red sun and moon image.
Mithun Rai urged his supporters to celebrate the election sincerely and make a resolution to hear the word “Congress is leading” in all 221 booths during the vote counting on May 13.
