Sullia: India’s prime minister, Narendra Modi, announced on 23 March that the entire country will be put under lockdown to prevent the spread of the virus and people have been asked to stay home.

Also, Police officials are ensuring that nobody leaves their house and also have been seen beating people with their lathis.

But, in a shocking incident, a priest of Kukke Subhramanya temple, Srinivas has been allegedly assaulted by a police constable on Sunday.

Sources claim that, the priest was on his way to the temple to offer evening puja, that is when a police constable named Shankar stopped and questioned him. Srinivas told him the constable that he was going to offer puja, but Shankar refused to listen and beat him up with his lathi.

Vipra Parivar Organization has now urged SP and DC of Dakshina Kannada district to suspend the constable immediately.
