Bengaluru: The suspect of the murder of a 21-year-old engineering student in Raichur was questioned in front of the victim’s parents on Friday, April 26 by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officers probing the case.
As per the sources, the suspect Sudarshan Yadav was questioned before Madhu’s parents so that he does not change his version later.
They CID police also held a spot inquiry by taking Sudarshan to a hill behind Manikprabhu Temple on the outskirts of the city, informed sources.
It is gathered that the CID officers will be soon taking more statement from Sudarshan’s family members and friends, who were aware of the fact that he was stalking the girl.
The CID is also likely to seek Sudarshan’s custody for more days as his four-day police custody ends on Saturday. A local court in Raichur had on Wednesday sent Yadav to four-day police custody, though the CID had asked for 10 days, informed sources.
Madhu, a sixth-semester student of a private engineering college in Raichur had left home on April 13 to attend classes but she did not return. Three days after the incident, her body was found hanging nearby. However, her parents alleged that it was not a suicide but a murder.
