In a shocking incident at a resort in Kaggodlu village near Madikeri, a family of three was found dead.

The deceased couple, identified as Vinod Babusenan (43) from Kollam, Kerala, and his wife GB Abraham (38), allegedly took the extreme step of ending their 11-year-old daughter Jane Maria Jacob’s life before ending their own.

Reportedly, the police, referencing a suicide note, revealed that the family succumbed to the tragic act due to financial distress. The couple, engaged in a business near Kollam, reportedly faced insurmountable financial challenges, leading them to take this drastic measure.

The family had arrived at the resort on Friday evening in their SUV, checking into their cottage around 6 pm. After a brief rest, they went for a walk around the resort, with the resort manager, Anand, noting that the family seemed to be in good spirits upon arrival.

During their walk, the family visited a nearby shop before returning to the resort for dinner. Vinod had informed the resort staff that they would check out by 10 am on Saturday. However, when the family didn’t do so, the staff became concerned.

At the scheduled checkout time of 10 am, a staffer knocked on the door without receiving any response. Growing increasingly worried, the staff attempted again 30 minutes later. This time, they noticed the family’s slippers outside the cottage, raising suspicions. Upon peering through the window, the couple was found hanging, as confirmed by a police official.

The resort promptly alerted the Madikeri Rural police station, and officers arrived at the scene. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for postmortem examination, and the families of the victims have been notified about the tragic

Police have registered a case in this regard.
