Maharashtra’s Igatpuri villagers have decided to pay tribute to late actor Irrfan Khan by renaming the area where his farmhouse stands to Hero-chi-Wadi which means neighbourhood of a hero in Marathi
Irrfan’s farmhouse is near Trilangwadi fort in Igatpuri tehsil where there is a small neighborhood called ‘Patryacha Wada’, Irrfan was closely attached with the villagers and had even visited on many occasions.
Also, on several occasions, he had even helped many underprivileged families financially. The actor had donated books, clothes, raincoats, and various other essential items to the kids of tribal people living in the region and also used to celebrate their festivals and would shower them with sweets and gifts.
Hence, as a fitting tribute to the man who helped uplift the lives of several families in the village, they decided to rename the locality where his farmhouse stands.
