Malpe: Man who went to save woman gets carried away by waves; both rescued

Malpe: An incident where two people who were washed away by sea waves while they were playing on the beach, occurred here on the afternoon of Monday, November 9.
Both of them were later rescued.
Ramya Muralidhar (28) from Mandya and Maruthi Suhas (20) from Doddaballapura were the two who were washed away.
Ramya had come to Malpe beach with a few of her family members. While playing on the beach she was swept away by a tide. Maruti who was also at the beach with others rushed to rescue her after seeing her caught by the sea waves. But he too got stuck in the waves.
Lifeguard Madhukar Salian and jetski rider Ravi rushed to the scene and were able to rescue both of them.
The two were later admitted to a private hospital in Udupi.
