Udupi: Harish Bangera who was arrested by the Saudi police for allegedly uploading a provocative post against Islam’s Holy Kaaba site in Mecca and Saudi’s Prince on Facebook, is set to be released from the prison.
Mangaluru Association Saudi Arabia (MASA) President, Sathish Kumar Bajal informed that Harish Bangera will be back soon. Also, the association has paid for the flight tickets.
Harish was employed as an air-conditioning technician for a company named Gulf Carton Factory Co in Damman. He was terminated after his arrest.
Harish was arrested in December 2019 after he posted a picture of Holy Kaaba site in Mecca on his Facebook page and wrote, “All my Hindu brothers next Ram Mandir in Mecca, be ready for fight, Jai Sri Ram. Modi with us.”
However, Harish’s wife, Sumana had said that her husband has not committed any mistake and that some miscreants created a fake Facebook account in Bangera’s name and posted defamatory messages against the Saudi King and Mecca on the page.
She also met Udupi superintendent of police Nisha James and sought her assistance to get him released and filed a complaint to CEN (Cyber Crime, Economic Offices and Narcotics) police station at Udupi against the fake FB account on December 21, 2019.
