Man drowns at Ullal beach

Ullal: A man drowned at the Mogaveerapattana beach here on Sunday. The deceased is identified as Rizwan (45), originally from Shivaji Nagar in Bengaluru and presently residing at Deralakatte. The mortal remains of the deceased has not yet been located and the members of the local lifeguards association are looking for the same.
The deceased was working at a ladies footwear producing firm at Deralakatte and has been residing here since 4 years. On Friday, Aayub who is friend of Rizwan came on a visit to Deralakatte from Bengaluru and on Sunday, which was the weekoff day of the deceased, the duo visited Ullal Dargha. After praying in the Dargha, both of them went to Mogaveerapattana beach and ventured into the waters.
On this occasion, Rizwan was trapped by the waves which eventually drowned him. Hearing the screams of help from Aayub, swimmers and home guards rushed to the spot but the victim could not be saved.
It is being said that since the local fishermen and swimmers had gone on a lunch break, it turned out difficult to save the victim. Rizwan is survived by his sister. The search for his corpse is being conducted. A case has been registered with Ullal police station.
