Man hangs self after strangulating wife to death

A 45-year-old man strangled his wife to death and later committed suicide by hanging himself here under Nidagundi Police Station jurisdictional limits.

The deceased have been identified as Sivappa, a resident of Benala RC village in the taluk, and his wife Hunumava.

As per reports, Sivappa took his wife to the fields on the village outskirts and choked her to death. Later he panicked and killed himself by hanging from a tree here.

Police visited the spot and registered a case. An investigation is underway.
