Mangaluru: 42 JD(S) district office bearers join Congress

Mangaluru: As many as 42 office bearers of JD(S) from Dakshina Kannada district joined the Congress party on Tuesday, protesting against the JD(S) party’s alliance with the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections.

In a ceremony held at the district Congress office here, district Congress president Harish Kumar and former minister Vinaya Kumar Sorake welcomed them into the party with a Congress party flag.

Speaking on this occasion, Vinaya Kumar Sorake called for strengthening the Congress party in the district. More leaders at the taluk level will also join Congress in the near future, he added.
