Mangaluru: Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have successfully apprehended the notorious accused, Thallath (39), who had been evading law enforcement for the past seven months.

Thallath, a resident of Shantinagar in Faisal Nagar, Mangaluru, was embroiled in several criminal activities ranging from assault, attempted murder, and kidnapping to extortion, robbery, and even murder.

After being granted bail by the court, he absconded, evading his court hearings, police said.

This isn’t Thallath’s first brush with the law, police said adding that his criminal record dates back to 2004 when he was involved in an assault case. Since then, he has amassed a staggering 28 cases at various police stations including Mangaluru Rural, Kankanady, Konaje, Barke, Mumbai, and more.

Charges against him include assault on police officers on duty, threatening lives, extortion, and even attempted murder, police added.
