Bengaluru: KPCC President D K Shivakumar reiterated his stand that BJP is exploiting the Mangaluru cooker bomb blast case for political gain by diverting several issues plaguing the state including voter data theft issue.
Speaking to reporters in the city, he said, that he and Congress were never in favor of terrorism. Congress party has lost leaders to terrorism. “We are always committed to the unity and integrity of the country. There is no compromise on it,” he said.
Further, the congress leader hit back at the BJP accusing it of diverting the public’s attention from other issues using his statement on the Mangaluru blast case. Investigate the blast case thoroughly and bring the truth out in the open. Similarly, the investigation into voter data theft should also be carried out impartially. The government should also investigate corruption and commission scams with equal seriousness, he suggested.
Shivakumar further accused the BJP of inflaming communal feelings, destroying social harmony, and undermining development in the state.
Reacting to a question about the rumors that 10 MLAs from the Congress party will join the BJP, Shivakumar quipped, “let them join immediately. Why is there a delay ?”
