Mangaluru: A Home Guard and five other police personnel who had tested positive for COVID-19 had to wait for more than 5 hours to get an ambulance to take them to the hospital.
The police personnel are from the Ullal police station. Earlier, the inspector of the station had tested positive for the virus. After this 40 personnel at the station tested themselves.
An official related to the issue stated that only designated ambulances can move COVID-19 positive cases. As there is a tremendous spike in the cases of COVID-19 in the district, there was an inadvertent delay in arranging an ambulance.
These six police personnel, who are asymptomatic, are presently undergoing treatment at the Yenepoya hospital.
