‘Mangaluru Dasara’ begins on grand note at Kudroli

Mangaluru: Former Union Minister B Janaradhan Poojary, patron of the Shri Kudroli Gokarnanatha Temple inaugurated the ‘Mangaluru Dasara’ on Monday, September 26.
Idols of goddesses Navadurga and Sharada were installed. Goddess Sharada’s idol was carried in a procession within the temple premises.
Padma Shri recipients Harekala Hajabba and Amai Mahalinga Naik, MLAs Vedavyas Kamath, Umanath Kotian, UT Khader, MLCs Manjunath Bhandary and Harishkumar, and former minister MB Patil were present on the occasion.
The Mangaluru Dasara festival will be celebrated at the Kudroli Gokarnanatha temple from September 26 to October 5.
More than 10 lakh people from various districts of the state are expected to arrive in the city for the celebrations.
Religious rituals will be held every day and food will be served to devotees.
