Mangaluru: Man arrested for sexual harassment of tenant’s minor daughter

Mangaluru: Pandeshwar women’s police personnel have arrested a man for allegedly sexual harassment of his tenant’s minor daughter.

The victim narrated her ordeal to her mother, who later lodged a complaint at the women’s police station seeking action against the accused, identified as Ramakrishna from Permude.

The complainant, who hails from Shivamogga was staying in the rented premises with her three children. On August 21, she had to leave for Shivamogga due to some urgent work and had requested the accused’s wife to keep an eye on her children.

The accused it is said tried to sexually harass the eight-year-old girl when she and her siblings came to his house to watch television programmes. His wife was not at home when the incident took place. The next day too, Ramakrishna attempted to outrage the minor’s modesty, the complainant has alleged.

A case has been registered and the accused was produced in the court after which he was remanded to judicial custody.
