Mangaluru: Man held for creating fake Facebook profiles, cheating people

Mangaluru: A man named Parameshwara has been arrested by Police officials for creating fake profiles in Facebook and cheating people in the name of matrimonial alliance and job opportunities
It is said that Parameshwara was pretending to be a Senior Postal Officer posted at Mangaluru and had also edited TV Clippings to portray himself to be the winner of Karnataka Rajyotsava Award and Meghadoot award
Reportedly Parameshwara had requested for matrimonial alliance with the daughter of Sri Hanumappa Giriappa Bisalli of Goa. Hanumappa enquired the postal authorities in Mangaluru and came to know that no such person by the name Parameshwara was working there. After which a police complaint was lodged
Also, on December 20, two police constables attached with the City armed Reserve police had also lodged a complaint regarding Parameshwara. They claimed that he cheated them to the tune of Rs 2 Lakh promising employment as Grade 1 and Grade 2 officers in the department of posts. This time he pretended to be a lady named Pooja C N
The investigation was carried out by the Police officials and they have now arrested the accused. Upon interrogation , he revealed that he had created 20 fake profiles under different names to cheat people.
