Mangaluru: Sec 144 in city on Ayodhya Bhoomi Poojan day

Mangaluru: City’s Commissioner of Police Vikash Kumar Vikash has ordered imposition of Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure within the police commissionerate limits from 8 pm on August 4 to 6 am on August 6.

In the order imposing the curfew, the commissioner states due to reports of some planned violence on the day of the Bhumi Poojan at Ayodhya by anti-national elements in the city here, the curfew had to be imposed.

The order adds that no more than 5 people can gather in public places during the period of the curfew.
