Mangaluru: In a news conference held at the district Congress office, MLC Ivan D’Souza has accused the district in-charge minister as well as the district administration of hiding their failure in containing the spread of COVID-19.

Ivan stated that three people in the district are already dead because of the virus spreading from the First Neuro Hospital and the district administration even after 18 days has still not found the source of the contagion.

This delay is causing people of the district to suspect the efficiency of the district administration and in-charge minister, he added.

Ivan also accused that returning migrant workers were asked to pay for the food provided to them and money was collected from them at the railway station before they started their journey.

He added that when the officials were asked for what are they collecting the money they replied that they are following orders but didn’t say who issued the orders to collect money from the migrant workers.
