Mangaluru: Sri Ram Sena chief Pramod Muthalik has been detained by the city police officials on Friday, July 29.
The district administration on Thursday issued an order imposing a ban on Sri Ram Sena chief Pramod Muthalik from entering Bantwal, Kadaba, Puttur, Sullia, and Belthangady taluks.
Despite the ban, Muthalik arrived in the city on Friday and was detained at the border check post.
City Police commissioner Shashi Kumar said, “Muthalik wanted to meet BJYM leader Late Praveen Nettaru’s family. We imposed a ban on him to avoid any untoward incident. Today we received information that Muthalik was in Udupi. We detained him at the Hejamadi check post.”
