Mangaluru: Unidentifed man tricks woman, flees with bag containing gold

Mangaluru: An unidentified person allegedly fled with a handbag containing jewellery from a woman’s house in the city on Monday.
The woman, a resident of T T Road behind Jain Temple, lodged a complaint in this regard at the Bunder police station.
According to the complaint, an unknown man came to her residence asking for change for a Rs 2,000 currency note. Later, he asked the woman to show him where she kept her gold. When she showed a handbag containing the jewellry kept on the shelf, he allegedly grabbed it and fled from the spot.
The woman alleged that she was hypnotized into a trance. She called her husband 5-6 minutes after the man left the place and informed him about what had happened.
The robber covered his face with a mask and wore a white shirt and black pants, the complainant claimed.
The handbag contained 130 grams of gold jewellery, the complainant said.
