Mangaluru: Yakshagana artiste commits suicide

Mangaluru:  A Yakshagana artiste here committed suicide on Thursday, August 18 in Ullanje near Kateel.

The deceased has been identified as Shambukumar (48), a resident of Kodethoor.

Shambukumar was working in Puttur, Bappanadu and Kateel Yakshagana melas and also ran the Chikka Mela of Umamaheshwari Temple, Hoige Gudde near Haleyangadi.

The reason for the extreme step is yet to be ascertained.
