Mangaluru: Youth arrested for sexually harassing minor; pestering parents to get her married

Mangaluru: A man who harassed a minor girl and pestered her parents to get her married to him was arrested under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Ullal Police arrested Gautham a resident of Kerala based on a complaint by the victim girl’s mother.
It is gathered that the accused visited the girl at their home unnecessarily and tried to strike a conversation with her. It is also alleged that the youth also tried to develop physical intimacy with the girl and had touched her inappropriately without her consent.
The girl’s mother who noticed the unwelcome behavior had warned the accused to stay away from them. But, he ignored the warnings and started to pester the lady to get her daughter married to him, the complaint said.
Moreover, the accused allegedly threatened to kill the mother of the victim if his demands were not met. He also tormented the girl by calling her phone repeatedly, the complaint said.
Further investigations are underway.
