Manipal Hospital group to receive 60,000 Covishield doses

Udupi: Manipal Hospital group has decided to purchase 60,000 Covishield doses. Of which 12,000 doses will be received in the first week of June.
The vaccines will be available in Kasturba Hospital of Manipal, KMC Hospital of Mangalore, Dr TMA Pai Hospital, Karkala and TMA Pai Rotary Hospitals.
Speaking to Udayavani, Medical Superintendent of Manipal Hospital Dr. Avinash Shetty said, “The vaccination will be open to all above 18+. Only online registrants will be allowed. Also, the registration process will be open after the vaccine delivery. The rate will be fixed as per the government guidelines.”
He further said,” Frontline workers who have already received the first dose of Covaxin will be given the second dose in Manipal Hospital. 2000 doses of Covaxin will be received from Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru. We will message those who took the first dose in Manipal and start the process in a few days.”
“We are in constant touch with Bharat Biotech for the supply of Covaxin. The final decision is yet to be made. The rate will be set according to the government guidelines,” he added.
