Maths Conference gets under way

Manipal: The three-day National Conference on Applications of Mathematics and Statistics in Engineering 2018 sponsored by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) and Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) started on Wednesday at Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal.

The conference, hosted by Department of Mathematics, MIT, is expected to buttress the knowledge of researchers and academicians in the field. Dr. Pradeep G. Bhat, Head, Department of Mathematics and organizing chairman of NCAMSE (2018) welcomed the gathering.

Dr. Asok Nanda, Professor, IISER, Kolkata inaugurated the conference and set the tone for the exciting knowledge dissemination by addressing the vital aspects of mathematics and statistics in the present world in his keynote speech.

Dr. B.H. Venkatram Pai, Joint Director, MIT, Manipal presided over the function. Dr. Prathima J, Associate Professor and Convener briefed the audience on the overview of the conference. Ms. K. Arathi Bhat, Assistant Professor and Co-convener, was the Master of ceremony and Dr. Sumathi K, Associate Professor and Organizing Secretary, delivered the vote of thanks for the Inaugural program me Caption
