Minor girl ends life after being harassed by stalker

Chikkaballapur: Devastated by the harassment made by a stalker, a 14-year old girl ended her life by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house on Sunday at Mullangichitlapalli  in Bagepalli taluk of Chikkaballapura.

The victim’s father has lodged a complaint which stated that a 17 year old boy was after his daughter from the past 15 days. He would stalk and pester her whenever she went out of the house.

The victim’s father told the police that on Sunday when he was away from home on some work, his daughter (the victim) looked upset and skipped her lunch. She went to sleep in the noon and the boy was seen around the house at that time. His daughter committed suicide because of him, he added.

The victim’s body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem at the government hospital.

When the news of the girl’s death was on sir, the villagers caught the suspect and tied him to a pole and thrashed him. He was then handed over to the police.
