Bengaluru: this is the third similar incident reported in this month where the police inspectors who guard the public are attacked. Two constables of Kodehalli police station were attacked by a gang of four who snatched one of the fully loaded rifles away from the police and fled the spot.
The incident took place at around 2 am on Thursday when the constables, Siddappa and Paramesh were on their night rounds when they received an alert from the control room saying a suspicious group was roaming around near Tata Nagar. The constables immediately went to the spot on their bike. As they approached the gang, the gang attacked the policemen with a dagger and iron rod. The policemen fell from their bike and one of the gang members stole a full loaded rifle from the police and escaped from there fearing that the police will open fire on them.
The control room was soon alerted and the injured constables were taken to a hospital nearby. Check posts were set up immediately in and around the area and a special team of police are assigned to catch the accused.
