Members of the Vishva Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal held a protest on Monday in front of the Mini Vidhana Soudha in the city demanding action against a teacher of a private school over her alleged anti-hindu statements.
The protestors also demanded the withdrawal of an FIR filed against leaders and MLAs.
As the protestors attempted to march from the protest site to the office of the police commissioner to submit a petition, they were intercepted by the police. This resulted in a confrontation, leading to the arrest of several protestors.
