Moodabidri resident dies of heart attack during Medina pilgrimage

Moodabidri: A 73-year-old local resident died of cardiac arrest on August 12 while on a pilgrimage to Medina in Saudi Arabia.

The deceased, identified as Kodanagallu resident Hamad, had been on a pilgrimage to Medina with his family about 2 weeks ago. They were reportedly getting ready to get to the Jeddah airport, Hamad complained of chest discomfort. Though he was rushed to a nearby hospital, he could not be saved.

Sources close to the family said that the funeral of Hamad was held on Sunday at Medina on Sunday as per the local rules and customs.

Hamad had worked in the Gulf for 15 years before settling down at this native place. Since then he had worked as an auto-rickshaw driver in Moodabidri town.

Hamad is survived by his wife, two sons, and four daughters.
