MP: FIR against man for damaging part of Shivling

Bhopal: A case was registered against a man for allegedly desecrating the Shivling at a temple of Lord Shiv here, police said on Wednesday.

The accused has been identified through CCTV footage and will be arrested soon, an official said.

Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ram Sanehi Mishra said a part of “Jalahri” (the base of Shivling) at the Mahadev temple located on Chhola Road was damaged by a possibly drunk man, on Tuesday night.

A case has been registered at the Hanumanganj police station under section 295 (Injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
