Mulki Sunder Ram Shetty’s wife, no more

Bengaluru/Mangaluru: Kusumavathi Shetty, wife of Late Mulki Sunder Ram Shetty, former Chairman of Vijaya Bank, expired at her residence at Craig Park Road, off M.G. Road, Bengaluru at the age of 103, on Wednesday, August 1st.

The deceased is survived by two daughters Vrinda Poonja and Urmila Shetty and three sons Dr. Radhakrishna Shetty, Hariprasad Shetty and Ashok Shetty. Two more children, late Udaychand Shetty and late Usha Punja had expired earlier.

Her mortal remains were kept for last respects at her house behind Adiga’s Restaurant, adjoining M. G. Road Metro Station till 3 p. m. and was followed by her creamation at Wilson Garden Crematorium at 4 pm on Wednesday.

Her husband Mulki Sunder Ram Shetty, is considered to be the architect of Vijaya Bank. He was associated with Vijaya Bank since 1946 and was Chairman of the bank from 1962 to 1978. He died in 1981.
