Fight between relatives who had come to view Kambala

Uppinangady: In a bizarre incident, two relatives had gone to visit kambala here and somehow a fight broke between them resulting in one of murdering the other using a broken soda bottle on Sunday March 3rd.

Karaya village Kallapu house resident Monappa Nalike’s elder son Yashwant K (19) has gone along with Anand, son of Rukmaya Nalike from Kadabettu,  a relative of Yashwant to view Vijaya-Vikram Jodukere kambala here. A verbal altercation rose between them for some reason and in the melee, Anand suddenly stabbed Yashwant with a broken soda bottle. Although the victim was rushed to the hospital, he unfortunately breathed his last at the hospital due to massive loss of blood.

Apparently, Anand and Yashwant had close bonds and used to visit Bootha Kolas together. Hence, the reason behind the extreme move by Anand to murder his own relative remains unclear.

Post the incident, Anand is missing. A case in this regard has been booked with Uppinangady police station and the police are on the lookout for the accused. The case is being probed into by PCI Nahesh Kadri and Uppinangady police sub-inspector, Nandakumar,
