Mystery thickens in honeytrap case: Video of BJP leader caught with girl at lodge goes viral

Mandya: The honeytrap and extortion complaint filed by BJP leader Jagannath Shetty has got murkier with a video of the alleged incident going viral on social media. The video purportedly shows Jagannath Shetty allegedly getting caught red-handed at a lodge with a college girl.

In the video, claimed to be shot on February 26, Jagannath Shetty is seen with a girl in a hotel room. It is alleged that Shetty who posed as a lecturer, took the girl to the lodge room on the pretext of tuition.

Unidentified persons, claimed to be the girl’s family, are also seen taking Shetty and the girl to task. The clip also shows Shetty falling to their feet and begging for mercy.

Jagannath Shetty had earlier lodged a police complaint that he was honey-trapped and extorted Rs 50 Lakhs by Salma Banu and others. Based on the complaint, police have arrested Salma Banu.

The viral video also shows Salma Banu entering the room.

With the video going viral, the case has raised several questions regarding the claims made in the complaint. Only a thorough investigation can reveal the truth.
