Mysuru: Archeological department has formed a team to look into the cracks developed on the 400-year-old Nandi statue at Chamundi hills.
Earlier in January Member of the Mysore Heritage Committee and historian Prof N S Rangaraju spotted the cracks on the statue and had submitted the report to the district administration seeking action to prevent further damage to the historic statue.
Rangaraju said that he had discovered cracks near the thighs of the mighty bull and on the carved lips of the monolith.
