Mysuru: The Janaspandana program here was called off by Revenue Minister R Ashok due to the ongoing tussle between district’s Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri and elected representatives.
Speaking to reporters later, Ashok said that the DC met him yesterday (November 29) and he instructed her how to conduct with the people’s representatives and ensuring that legislators are mandatorily called for the inauguration of Janaspandana programs.
“The Janaspandana programs is now cancelled. However, in the coming days, similar events will be held in the villages with the DC. Guidelines for these events are being prepared. In these events, people’s problems will be heard,” he added.
“I agree that the cancellation of the program is not in favour of the public. I assure that such cancellations will not happen again,” Ashok said.
MLAs and other representatives from the district have been openly complaining against DC Sindhuri for conducting the Janaspandana programs without them.
