Nejar murder case: Accused appeals court for bail

Udupi: The lone accused in the murder case of a mother and her children in Nejar, has reportedly filed a bail application in a city court.
It is gathered that Praveen Chowgale (39) filed the bail petition in the second additional district and sessions court of Udupi on December 14.
The plea moved by Chowgale’s counsel has been scheduled for hearing on December 20. Public Prosecutor Prakash Chandra Shetty has been notified to present objections, if any.
It may be recalled that the police had arrested Praveen Chaugule on the accusation of brutally murdering a mother and three children in Nejar on November 12. He has been in judicial custody at Parappana Agrahara prison in Bengaluru, and the period of judicial custody has been extended until December 18.
